Charlotte Ann Baker, 83, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, at Village Ridge in Marion of dementia. Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 21, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. A funeral
service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, with Pastor Nathan Williams of Echo Hill Church and the Rev. Carl Vaagenes officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Charlotte Ann Baker was born April 22, 1931, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Archie and Hazel Stubbs Dean. Charlotte attended a rural grade school and graduated from East High School in 1949. She married Delbert E. Baker on April 16, 1950, in Waterloo. They moved to Cedar Rapids in 1967. Charlotte worked at Newell Machinery for many years. Charlotte and Delbert owned and operated Trailer Leasing of Iowa.
She was a member of Echo Hill Presbyterian Church and the Cedar Valley Chapter of Embroiderers Guild of America. She enjoyed book, craft and bridge clubs.
Charlotte was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed by many.
Charlotte is survived by her children, Pamela (Jim) Boehler of Denver, Colo., Susan (Vernon) Johnson of Martelle and Thomas (Annette) Baker of Minneapolis; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Beverly Stubbs and Lois Carl, and her special companion, Vernon Kriz of Cedar Rapids.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
