Hilgenberg, Karli Lyn
Karli Lyn Hilgenberg, 20, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, from injuries suffered in a car accident in Cedar Falls. Services: 3 p.m. Monday at River of Life Ministries by Pastor Steve Irwin. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Sunday from 3 to 8 p.m. and Monday after 2 p.m. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.
Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Jacque and Kevin Rowray of Anamosa; father and stepmother, Craig and Monica Hilgenberg of Cedar Rapids; three siblings, Kyle, Melea and Cole Hilgenberg of Cedar Rapids; three stepbrothers, Levi Rowray of Fairfax, Darren Baldwin of Istanbul, Turkey, and Carey Baldwin of New York City, N.Y.; grandpa, Floyd “Big Jake” Jacobsen of Oklahoma; aunts and uncles, Jill Jacobsen of Cedar Rapids, Sherry and Gary Mozena and Steve and Lori Hilgenberg, all of Bayard, Bryan and Zavette Hilgenberg of Jefferson and Cindy and Brad Harrison of Adel; and many cousins and friends.
Her grandparents, Linda Farrell, Glenn and Marian Hilgenberg, and uncle, Brad Hilgenberg, preceded her in death.
Karli was born Dec. 22, 1991, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Craig and Jacqueline Jacobsen Hilgenberg. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 2010 and attended Kirkwood Community College before transferring to Cedar Falls to work toward a degree in early childhood education.
Karli enjoyed shopping, working out, tanning, and spending time with her close friends whom she considered family. She had a smile that could light up a room and an outgoing personality that would make everyone love her when they met her.
