Estes, Chloe Marie
Chloe Marie Estes, 13, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013, from a car accident. Family will greet friends from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 1, at Calvary Baptist Church, Cedar Rapids. Services: 3 p.m. Saturday at the church by Dr. Matthew Slippy. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her father, Mark (Kris) Estes; mother, Alice Polkinghorn; siblings, Brittney (Byron) Wilson, Jessica Cox, Derek (Lauren) Scheidegger and Joselynn Bradley; grandparents, Clarence (Melva) Polkinghorn; great-grandpa, Oscar Bystol; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, William and Mary Estes; great-grandparents, Marie Bystol and Floyd and Florence Metz; aunts; uncles; and cousins.
Chloe was born May 17, 2000, in Cedar Rapids, daughter of Mark Estes and Alice Polkinghorn. She was in seventh grade at Taft Middle School. Chloe was a member of AWANA, youth group and girl scouts. She enjoyed playing volleyball, basketball, tennis and also played in the school band and choir. She also enjoyed camping, mushroom hunting and taking pictures, but most of all Chloe loved hanging with her friends.
Chloe gave the gift of life by donating organ and tissue to the Iowa Donor Network.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
