Hoech, Hannah Elizabeth 'Liz'
Hannah Elizabeth “Liz” Hoech, 23, was called home by her Heavenly Father, whose loving wisdom we cannot fully understand but can only trust. She died suddenly in a car accident on April 29, 2010, in Henry County, Iowa. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 5, at Zion Lutheran Church, Hiawatha. The Rev. Daniel Krueger will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Hannah was born in Cedar Rapids on Oct. 11, 1986. She was a 2005 graduate of Washington High School and earned a B.A. degree in linguistics from the University of Iowa in 2009. She was a gifted writer with plans for graduate school and a career as a secondary school humanities teacher. Hannah's love, wit, and creativity touched many lives.
Hannah is survived by her parents, Robert and Cheryl Hoech of Cedar Rapids; her grandmother, Vivian Doerr of Rolla, Mo.; 11 aunts and uncles; 48 cousins; and numerous cherished friends.
She was preceded in death by grandparents, Fred and Dorothea Hoech and Robert M. Doerr; and her aunts, Nesta Hoech Lenhart and Peggy Doerr.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
