Kenneth John Moran, 68, of Scottsdale, Ariz., passed from this life to the next on April 5, 2016 at his home. The family of Ken will greet friends and relatives from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, April 28, at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Cascade. A committal service will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cascade. Reiff Funeral Home of Cascade is in charge of local arrangements.
Ken was born March 11, 1948, in Cascade, Iowa, the son of Eldred and Margaret (Knepper) Moran. He was a graduate of the former Aquin High School in Cascade. He graduated from Loras College in Dubuque. In July 1999, he was united in marriage to Charlene Flaherty in Philadelphia.
His life was one of love and service. He adored his family and was a wonderful friend to many. He provided grateful service to the poor through the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Ken loved people by quietly doing things for them. He will be especially remembered for his humility, generous heart and sharp wit.
He is survived by his wife, Charlene Moran of Scottsdale; two daughters, Marla (Rodney) Nilson of Marietta, Ga., and Tina (Maurice) Hall of Anchorage, Alaska; three grandchildren, Davis and Olivia Nilson and Jada Hall; and two brothers, Tom Moran and Terry (Joyce) Moran, both of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Peggy Moran.
