Albion Edward "Al" Wall, 84, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Friday, Dec. 2, 2016, at the Dallas Regional Medical Center in Mesquite, Texas. Funeral services with Masonic rites will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Al was born Nov. 17, 1932, in Linn County, Iowa, to Louis and Cora (Jepson) Wall. After graduating from high school, Albion served honorably in the United States National Guard from 1949 to 1985, retiring as a lieutenant colonel. He was united in marriage to Maxine McLeish on Aug. 23, 1953, in Cedar Rapids. To this union, three children were born.
Al worked as a real estate agent for most of his career. He also worked for the city of Cedar Rapids for 15 years, assisting with tree removal, snow removal and driving a school bus. He was an active member of the Masons Mount Hermon Lodge No. 263 in Cedar Rapids. He also enjoyed membership with the Shriners.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Maxine; his children, Linda (Alfredo) Agonizante of Mesquite, Texas, Nancy Brown of Cedar Rapids and Michael (Connie) Wall of Claremore, Okla.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Viola (John) Kerr of Minnesota.
Al was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
