Anne Colleen Johnson, 55, of Cedar Rapids, born in El Paso, Texas, passed away Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Her electric smile and contagious laugh lit up any and every room she entered. She was well known for her generous, loving heart and for putting others before herself. She was passionate about fitness, the outdoors and her three boys. She worked at the downtown Cedar Rapids YMCA for over 30 years where she shared her passion for fitness as an instructor of various classes. She loved camping, canoeing and kayaking and often did so with her three beloved boys.
Anne also had a passion for collecting antiques, a hobby which she picked up from her late mother, Donna Johnson. She was an avid world traveler with a love for seeing and experiencing new things. In the years before her sickness, she was an active member of the Cedar River Gang dragon boat team along with her sons, a group she recognized as her second family.
Anne is survived by her three sons, Justin, Evan and Brandon Lefebure.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at the Walford Community Center.
