Connie Albert, 83, of Marion, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at Bickford Senior Living, Marion. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 29, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 30, at First United Methodist Church, Marion, conducted by the Rev. Mike Morgan. Committal service for immediate family will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, following the service.
Connie was born Jan. 1, 1935, in Vinton, Iowa, the daughter of Milo and Bertha (Watson) Cottrell. She graduated from Vinton High School in 1953. On June 6, 1954, Connie was united in marriage to Ned Albert in Vinton. She enjoyed traveling and time at Lake Delhi with family, and she loved time spent with her grandkids and great-grandkids.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ned; children, Gregg (Edy) Albert, Shawn (Jeff) Bouslog, Scott (Lila) Albert, David (Chele) Albert and Michael (Sara) Albert; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association in Connie's memory.
The family extends a special thank-you to the staff at Bickford and Care Initiative Hospice for the care given to Connie.
