Clifford Elmer Netolicky, 91, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Jan. 30, 2017, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House. Celebration of Life services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, at Brosh Chapel & The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids. Burial will be in Shueyville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, at Brosh Chapel.
Cliff was born Sept. 5, 1925, the son of Oldrich and Elnora (Kopecky) Netolicky, on a farm in Western, Iowa. His family moved to Cedar Rapids in 1937, where he spent the rest of his life. Clifford was united in marriage to Lucille Hodina on Aug. 11, 1946. Cliff worked for over 44 years at Cherry-Burrell. He enjoyed the outdoors by going hunting, fishing, gardening and mushrooming. Cliff was happy to help anyone who was in need. He was an active member of Local 1024 UAW, WFLA and the NCSML.
Cliff is survived by his wife of over 70 years, Lucille; one son, Steven of Ely; two grandchildren, Kyle Netolicky and Megan Netolicky; nephews, Gary Netolicky, Dennis Netolicky, Rick (Jan) Netolicky, Bill (Phyllis) Hodina, Gary (Doris) Hodina, John (Nancy) Horak, Mark (Donna) Horak, Tom Hodina and Dennis (Karol) Mack; as well as his great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Donald Netolicky.
Memorials may be directed to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the staff at Hospice of Mercy and the Hospice Home for their loving care for Cliff and his family.
