UPDATE: Interstate 380 is now reported as clear from Highway 30 north to Cedar Rapids after multiple accidents snarled traffic along the highway earlier this morning.
Despite the appearance of a clear roadway, accidents were reported along I-380 from the H Avenue NE exit south to the Highway 30 interchange.
"They're just happening left and right," Cedar Rapids police Sgt. Cristy Hamblin said earlier today. "People just need to slow down a little bit. They can be late to work. It's better than having a crash."
Hamblin said she heard from a Cedar Rapids officer, en route to a crash, who witnessed a car spin in front of him and had to stop to help before responding to the original accident.
Accidents were being reported starting around 7:30 a.m., Hamblin said. Locations included 380 at H Avenue, at Diagonal Drive, at Wilson Avenue, and multiple incidents around the 380-30 interchange.
Hamblin said she hadn't heard any reports of injuries, but traffic was slow in many areas.
