DANNY THOMPSON

Danny K. Thompson, 69, of Shellsburg, died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. A memorial service will be at a later date. Iowa Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly; a son, Donald (Melissa) of Texas; a brother, Gary (Rochelle) of Michigan; six grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Danny was born Sept. 15, 1946, in Webster City, the son of Wendell and Neva Phipps Thompson. He married Beverly A. Leopoldo on Sept. 15, 2001, in North Liberty.
Danny worked at Rockwell Collins and retired from there after 22 years of service.
He proudly served in the Navy during the Vietnam War.
Danny enjoyed fishing, target shooting, camping, boating, woodworking and spending time with his family and friends.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
