Doris A. Cook, 93, formerly of Urbana, died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, at Woodlands Senior Park, Fond du Lac, Wis.
She was born Jan. 24, 1923, in Radcliffe, Iowa, a daughter of Cyrus J. and Kethyn Knudtson Elwick. Doris was a graduate of Vinton High School in Vinton and Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. On Sept. 11, 1949, she married Chandler Cook. Doris was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Vinton.
She is survived by her husband, Chandler Cook; two daughters, Pamela (Delmar) Coburn and Deborah (Kevin) Wilt; five grandchildren, Joshua (Kelly) Coburn, Hannah Coburn, Jennifer (Jerid) Schoeck, Karissa (Jesse) Eckhardt and Andrea Wilt; seven great-grandchildren, Nora Coburn, Micah Coburn, Kevin Schoeck, Avery Schoeck, Tate Schoeck, Tyler Eckhardt and Cooper Eckhardt; two brothers, Keith (Janet) Elwick and Ronald (Judy) Elwick; and two sisters, Ruth Reed and Nancy (Dennis) Lausar.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister-in-law, Margaret Cook; a brother-in-law, Tom Reed; and her father- and mother-in-law, Ross and Esther Cook.
Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, at First Presbyterian Church, 1225 Fourth St., Fond du Lac. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Jack Harrison officiating. Burial will be in Rienzi Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association or First Presbyterian Church.
