Richard Guy Cook, 79, passed away Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017, at his home in Marion. Cremation has taken place and per Richard's wishes, there will not be any services.
Richard is survived by his wife, Fran Sears; his children, Kelly (Jeff) Bixler, Robin (Haide) Cook and Kimberly (John) Weiss; stepchildren, Donna Buehler, Travis Long (Cindy Noyer), Jeremiah (Christina) Buehler and Sally Tipton; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Gertrude Frey; and sisters-in-law, Carol Matz and Barb (Gary) Schneider.
Richard was born March 31, 1937, in rural Bremer County, Iowa, the son of Guy Clayton and Hazel (Evritt) Cook. He loved fishing, camping, woodworking, going to auctions, and spending time with his family and pets.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
