Priscilla Yvonne Nelson, 63, died Monday, Oct. 3, 2016.
Survivors include her children, Erica (Chris) Gehrke of Cedar Rapids, Kellen (Jessica) Deuster of Cleveland, Tenn., Rachelle Deuster of Cedar Rapids and Brandon Deuster of North Liberty; brothers, Chris Nelson of Seattle, Wash., and Conny Nelson of Litchfield Park, Ariz.; and sisters, Prudence (Daniel) Rosenberg of Richmond, Ind., Melissa Victoria of Missoula, Mont., Elizabeth (Bobby) Dazey of Longmont, Colo., and Honoria Nelson and Felicia Nelson of Grand Forks, N.D.
Also surviving are her grandchildren, Hannah, Samantha, Thomas, Isabelle and Ryan Gehrke and Kade, Jude and Kelissa Deuster; aunts and uncles; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Conny Nelson.
Priscilla was born March 31, 1953, in Seattle, Wash., to Conny and Yvonne (Taber) Nelson. Priscilla was a stay-at-home mom for 19 years while she raised her four children. Priscilla then worked for Cedar Rapids Community Schools for 19 years, most recently at Taylor Elementary.
Priscilla loved gardening, sewing and being with her family. She always gave of herself to care for others. Priscilla was a beloved mom, grandma, daughter, sister and aunt and will be very greatly missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be directed to Taylor Elementary PTA, c/o Erica Gehrke, 822 Augusta Dr. SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52403.
