CEDAR RAPIDS - Forward Cal Burke of the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders has been named a late replacement for injured teammate Erik Foley at Tuesday night's United States Hockey League/National Hockey League Top Prospects Game at Dubuque.
Foley received a concussion and a deep cut above his left eye that required stitches falling into the goalpost, then boards during a play in last Saturday's home win against Team USA.
Burke has played in all 32 games this season for the RoughRiders, scoring 19 points on 11 goals and eight assists. The Notre Dame recruit was ranked a 'C” prospect in NHL Central Scouting's preseason list of 2015 NHL draft-eligible players.
Other RoughRiders playing in Tuesday night's game are forwards Adam Gaudette and Jiri Fronk, defenseman Bryce Hatten and goalies Ryan Larkin and Ben Blacker. RoughRiders Coach Mark Carlson is head coach for Team East.
The game features 40 of the top draft-eligible players in the USHL. It will be broadcast live at 7 p.m. on KCRG-9.2.
