LINCOLN, Neb. - Andrew Oglevie had the only successful shootout attempt as the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders wrangled their way past the Lincoln Stars in USHL hockey Wednesday night.
Oglevie was the third and final shooter for the Riders, with goaltender Ryan Larkin stopping every attempt he faced. Oglevie also had assists on two of Cedar Rapids' three goals.
The RoughRiders improved to a USHL-best 16-2 with the win. They play Thanksgiving night at Waterloo.
Lincoln scored the first goal just 1:57 in, but Cedar Rapids scored three times in the first period for a 3-1 lead. Dylan McLaughlin, Jiri Fronk and Tyler Gernhofer had the RoughRiders' goals, Fronk his league-best 16th.
Lincoln tied the game with a goal early in the second period and another early in the third, both my Michael Gillespie. The RoughRiders outshot Lincoln by a 26-23 margin.
