OMAHA, Neb. - The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders allowed two each in all three periods and lost to the Omaha Lancers, 6-3, Friday night in USHL hockey.
The Riders (38-19-0, 76 points) failed to gain on idle first-place Youngstown in the USHL's Eastern Conference. Dubuque won and jumped ahead of Muskegon for third place in the division,
Dylan McLaughlin scored to put Cedar Rapids on top, 1-0, but Omaha goal goals before first period's end from Louie Rowe and Will Borgen for a 2-1 lead. Cedar Rapids tied it, 2-2, midway through the second period on an Adam Gaudette power-play goal, but Josh French and Jimmy Schuldt scored 14 seconds apart later for a 4-2 lead.
Ross Colton had the lone third-period goal for Cedar Rapids, which plays Saturday night at Tri-City. Ben Blocker took the loss in net, stopping 25 of 31 shots on goal faced.
