Mary C. Buck, 78, of Wyoming, Iowa, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, at Lahey Funeral Home in Wyoming. A visitation will be Monday, May 9, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wyoming Cemetery following the service.
She was born Jan. 31, 1938, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Dale E. Hartley and Mary Lucille (Mott) Ellison. She married William F. Buck on July 23, 1971, at the Methodist Church in Wyoming. She was retired from the Jones County Sheriff's Office.
Mary was a member of the United Methodist Church in Wyoming. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo. She liked to travel, go camping and to eat at different places. She especially enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandkids.
She is survived by her children, Dennis (Susan) Lowe of Benton, Mo., Teresa Shoaff of Maquoketa, Willy (Angie) Buck of Marion and Larry Buck of Wyoming; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Brian; niece, Wendy; sister-in-law, Sharon; three brothers, Bob, Jim and Bill, two sisters, Beverly and Georgann; and her husband, William.
