Bonnie A. Lindenmayer, 87, of Marengo, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016, at Marengo Memorial Hospital. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Bonnie is survived by two sons, Dr. F. James Lindenmayer (Barbara) of Ottumwa and Jay A. Lindenmayer (Nancy Adami) of Brooklyn; five grandchildren, Julie Ann Lindenmayer of Miami, Fla., Diane Marie Cassimire (Kristian) of East Rutherford, N.J., Ariel Janee Lindenmayer of Marengo, Josh (Rhonda) Mumm of Brooklyn and Mathew (Brandi) Mumm of Williamsburg; five great-grandchildren, Mikah Cassimire, Tabitha Mumm, Cole Mumm, Dodge Mumm and Kolton Mumm; her siblings, Dan Jacobs of Congress, Ariz., James E. Jacobs (Doris) of Cedar Rapids and Kay Scott (Jim) of Phoenix, Ariz.; and many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Lindenmayer; her parents; a great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Mumm; two brothers, Thomas and Larry Jacobs; three sisters-in-law, Mona Jacobs, Belle Jacobs and Bonnie Lindenmayer; and a brother-in-law, Richard Lindenmayer.
Bonnie Audry Jacobs was born Oct. 28, 1928, in Marengo, Iowa, the daughter of Oliver D. Jacobs and Vesper A. Jenkins Jacobs. She graduated from Marengo High School in 1946 and married Fred D. Lindenmayer on March 17, 1949 in Marengo. Bonnie worked as a bookkeeper at Mapco and was treasurer of the Marengo Golf Club for several years. She also worked at Iowa County Savings Bank for several years. Bonnie was a member of the Marengo Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed playing in two weekly bridge clubs.
