On Wednesday, The Gazette reported: "Sen. Tom Harkin made history Tuesday by becoming the first Iowa Democrat to win a fifth term in the U.S. Senate."
Did you know that briefly, Harkin held another job?
Senator Tom Harkin (D-Iowa), right, an occasional guest at Gazette Editorial Board meetings, was 'editorial writer for a day' on Friday. It is one of 77 'jobs' Harkin has filled since going to Congress in 1974.
