Joanne LaVonna Landuyt, 71, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017, at Living Center West, Cedar Rapids. A service will be at
3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion, conducted by Deacon Mike Klappholz. A memorial gathering will follow from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Joanne is survived by her children, Teresa Torres of Hendersonville, Tenn., Cindy (John) Cummins of Cedar Rapids, Todd (Amy) Landuyt of Montgomery, Ala., and Eric (Niki) Landuyt of Marion; seven grandchildren, Justin (Lydia) Jacobs, Brett Jacobs, Lukas Cummins, Ryan Cummins, Ashley Landuyt, Brenden Landuyt and Andrea Landuyt; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Harold (Carole) Blomme; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Blomme; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Evelyn Saey; and brother, Raymond Blomme.
Joanne was born Aug. 25, 1945, in Marengo, Iowa, the daughter of Louis and Lucille (Moore) Blomme. She graduated from HLV High School and Kirkwood Community College. Joanne was united in marriage to Charles Landuyt on June 29, 1963, in Victor, Iowa. They later divorced after 32 years of marriage. She enjoyed singing, especially with the Sweet Adelines. She loved her family, grandchildren, and her cats.
