Williams, Morgan Lloyd
Morgan Lloyd Williams, 28, passed peacefully on July 1, 2011, in Chicago due to complications from meningitis. A service honoring his life and memory will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, at Clover Ridge United Methodist Church in Walford, Iowa. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, July 5, at the church from 4 to 8 p.m.
Morgan was born May 26, 1983, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was an Eagle Scout and a graduate of Prairie High School and the University of Iowa. Morgan cultivated an appreciation and passion for cinema, theatre, travel, classic literature, and Hawkeye athletics.
Morgan was diagnosed with ALL leukemia in October 2008. Most recently, he utilized his courage and tenacity to reach his goal of being in remission again. Morgan's wit, conversation, and love of fun and adventure will be remembered by all who knew him.
Morgan will be missed by his parents, Scott and Ursula (Hoefing) Williams; sister and best friend, Emilie Kaplan and her husband, Michael Kaplan, of Chicago; loving aunts and uncles: Sally Williams, Sarah Hoefing, T.H. and Carolynne Hoefing and Bob (Sheryl) Cook; and beloved cousins: Claudia (Adam) Ahrens, Betsy (Brian) Harrison, Katy (Nick) Dohrmann, Eric (Kristi) Hoefing, Neall Hoefing, Brad (Kim) Hoefing and Marc Hoefing. Many supportive extended family members and lifelong friends also will miss his unique spirit.
Morgan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lloyd and Betty Williams and Glenn and Mary Hoefing; and his dear aunt, Nancy Cook.
