Donna Jean Heller, 83, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018, at West Ridge Care Center. Services: 9:30 a.m. Monday, St. Mark's United Methodist Church, by Pastor Bonnie Koeppen. Burial: 2 p.m. Monday, Franklin Township Cemetery, Cooper. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Teahen Funeral Home, and Monday after 9 a.m. at the church.
Donna is survived by her daughters, Claudia Glasnovich of Cedar Rapids, Sue (David) Sperfslage of Central City and Andra (Andy Jonusaitis) Heller of Chicago; her sons, James Tolle of Philadelphia and William (Dawn) Heller Jr. of Cedar Rapids; and eight grandchildren, Alex, Spencer, Lucas, Logan, Megan, Rebecca, Aubrey and Will.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William, in 2007; and her brother, Richard McNabb.
Donna was born Oct. 12, 1934, in Jefferson, daughter of Emmett and Irene Niedermeyer McNabb. She graduated from Iowa Teachers College, Cedar Falls, and married William Heller on Sept. 15, 1978, in Cedar Rapids. Donna taught at Coolidge Elementary, Cedar Rapids community schools, and worked at Grant Wood AEA for many years. She was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church.
Donna was huge on family and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband Bill and watching Iowa Hawkeyes women's basketball. Donna will be missed by her friends and family.
