Berry, James L.
James L. Berry, 71, of Chippewa Falls, Wis., and formerly of Alburnett, Iowa, died Monday, March 4, 2013, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, Wis.
Services: 6 p.m. Friday, March 8, at Horan Funeral Home, Chippewa Falls, Wis. Visitation: 3 p.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home. Burial of cremains will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Waukon, Iowa, at a later date.
James is survived by his children, Scott (Debbie) of Troy, Mich., Tom (Liz) of Winterset, Iowa, Kim (Brad) Reese of Elk Mound, Wis., and Jason (Sara Broome) of Eau Claire, Wis.; brothers, Robert (Betty Payne) Berry of Monticello, and Allan (Annette) Berry of Alburnett; sisters, Darlene Ferguson of Seward, Neb., and June Smith of Alburnett; and grandchildren, Mike, Kayla, and Ryan Berry, and Ella and Cooper Reese. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita, on June 10, 2010; and his parents.
Jim was born March 20, 1941, in Cedar Rapids, to Guy and Claudia (McAtee) Berry. He was a 1959 graduate of Alburnett High School. On May 5, 1962, he married Rita Keenan in Waukon, Iowa. He loved hunting waterfowl in Canada and trap shooting. He was a longtime member and past president of the Eau Claire Rod & Gun Club. He enjoyed watching baseball and was a big Chicago Cubs fan.
