Arntzen, Howard R.
Howard R. Arntzen, 73, of Cedar Rapids, passed away March 4, 2011, in Palm Desert, Calif. Memorial Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, April 23, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Fidelitas Lodge No. 364 AF & AM. The family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Inurnment: Linwood Mausoleum, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon; children, Jay (Tracy) Arntzen of Acworth, Ga., Julie (Craig) McCaw of Dubuque, and James (Melanie) Arntzen of Canton, Ga.; two brothers, Darrell (Pat) Arntzen of Corning, and Gary (Deb) Arntzen of Cedar Rapids; and nine grandchildren, Kristen, Nick (Claudia), Chelsea, Joshua, Jared, Jessica, Mason, Reagan and Thomas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Jeffrey Arntzen.
Howard was born Nov. 27, 1937, the son of Orie and Mary Arntzen, in Macomb, Ills. On August 17, 1958, he was united in marriage to Sharon Danberg in Cedar Rapids. Howard worked at Linn County Abstract Company, retiring as CEO after 45 years. He served on the board of the Salvation Army and was a member of Fidelitas Lodge No. 364.
Memorials may be made to the Cedar Rapids Animal Shelter, in memory of Howard.
