Garrison, Karen Lynne Vokoun
Karen Lynne Vokoun Garrison, 65, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo after a lengthy illness.
She was born April 21, 1947, in Waterloo, the daughter of Edward and Iva Ehlers Vokoun. She married James Pattison in February 1968 and later divorced. She married Tim Brooks on Aug. 18, 2007, in Waterloo. Karen graduated from Dunkerton High School and nursing school in Marshalltown. She was employed as a nurse at St. Francis Hospital, now Covenant Medical Center, until her retirement.
Survivors include her husband, Tim of Waterloo; a son, Barry of Urbandale; a daughter, Nikole Pattison (James) Tutton of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren, Olivia Pattison, William Pattison, Samuel Pattison, Zachariah Pattison and Stewart Tutton; and a brother, Harold (Claudia) Vokoun of Kansas City, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services will be held in April, with inurnment in Memorial Park Cemetery, Waterloo.
