John Moore, 76, of Decorah, died Saturday,
July 5, 2014, at the Veteran's Memorial Hospital in Waukon. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 11, at the First Lutheran Church, 604 W. Broadway St., Decorah, with the Rev. Chad Huebner presiding. Burial will be at a later date. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 10, at the Schluter-Balik
Funeral Home, 604 South Ave., Decorah, and also after 10 a.m. Friday at the church.
John is survived by his wife, Pat Moore, Decorah; five children, Bryan (Rosa) Moore, Garland, Texas, Craig (Theresa) Moore, Carrollton, Texas, Julie (Michael) Schlaff, Charlotte, N.C., Adam (Stephanie) Moore, Rochelle, Ill., and Abigail (Jason) Cross, Morgan Hill, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Angie (Glen) Lansing, Postville, and Stephanie (Zeb Holkesvik) Burroughs, Decorah; 15 grandchildren, along with a Cross baby on the way; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dick Moore, Cedar Rapids, and Jim (Jean) Moore, Rochester, Minn.; one
sister, JoAnn Alexander, St. Louis, Mo.; his mother-in-law, Mary Kathleen Mettille, Waukon; brothers and sisters-in-law, John (Leona) Mettille, Caldwell, Idaho, Linda Mettille, Waukon, Butch (Debbie) Mettille, Waukon, and Debbie (Tony) Schulte, Spring Grove, Minn.; His little buddy, his dog, Paco; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Bess (Brown) Moore; and his father-in-law, LeRoy Mettille.
