Ehmsen, Paul Daniel
Paul Daniel Ehmsen, 47, of Coralville, formerly of Mount Vernon, lost his battle with alcoholism Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2011. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3 until 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
Surviving Paul are two daughters, Haleigh and Keighley of Mount Vernon; his father, Dr. Kent (Deborah) Willer of Marion; his mother, Patti (Harry) Ehmsen of Coralville; a brother, Harry (Heidi) Ehmsen III of Solon; two sisters, Penny Ehmsen of Moline, Ill., and Heather (Steve) Rittgers of Cedar Rapids; paternal grandmother, Doris (Jim) Whitmore of Cedar Rapids; and former wife, Anita Knebel-Ehmsen of Mount Vernon.
Paul was born July 5, 1964, in Iowa City. He graduated from Iowa City West High School. His primary vocation and passion was as a restaurateur.
Paul found God in trout streams and religion in nature.
