Donald "Don" R. Fleagle, 86, passed away peacefully Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014, surrounded by his family at Mercy Medical Center. Per Don's wish, he will be cremated. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
Don was born Feb. 3, 1928, in Cedar Rapids, to Edward and Marie (Dusek) Fleagle. He married Lois Loux on June 2, 1956, in Clarion, Iowa. Don retired as a supervisor from the Cedar Rapids Streets Department after 38 years.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lois; children, Val (Ted) McLeod, Mark (Lori) Fleagle, Jim (Robyn) Fleagle and Kristen (Todd) Meese; grandchildren, Shawn, Nichole, Natalie, Corey, Shawna, Morgan and Megan; and nine great-grandchildren.
Don was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Laverne and Edward.
Don enjoyed woodworking, especially creating birdhouses. He also loved the Hawkeyes, the Packers, trips to the casino and spending time with his grandchildren.
