Carrie Ann (Schwiebert) Boardman, 45, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital. Memorial services at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories by Joe Kane. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Survivors include her husband, Jim; a daughter, Rachel Boardman of Cedar Rapids; her parents, Steve and Charlene Schwiebert of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Linda Schwiebert of Hiawatha; a brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Danielle Schwiebert, and their children Morgan, Abby and Andrew of Cedar Rapids; mother and father-in-law, Jim and Mary Ann Boardman of Cedar Rapids; sister-in-law and spouse, Lori and Kevin Short and their children, Matt, Joe and Zach of Oklahoma; and sister-in-law and spouse, Erin and Travis Hess and their children, Brady and Connor of Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and two uncles.
Carrie was born on Jan. 28, 1970, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Steven and Charlene Lewis Schwiebert. She graduated from Iowa Wesleyan College with a degree in psychology. She was a para-educator for the Cedar Rapids School System for 10 years and most recently was a therapist for autistic children at the Homestead.
Carrie loved all animals, especially cats and dogs. She enjoyed knitting and the time spent with her friends and beloved family. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
