Letter writer wrong about anthem

In response to Ralph Russell's Feb. 4 letter 'Disrespect causes reader to skip game,” which implied that kneeling for the anthem showed disrespect to our country, you are wrong sir and you are the one showing disrespect.
It is disrespectful to ignore our Constitution, the First Amendment of which protects our right to kneel. It is disrespectful to handpick what you see as patriotism and in my opinion, it is the height of hypocrisy to ignore the totality if what is fought for and that is our freedom. Our freedom is guided by the bedrock of our nation, the Constitution. Ignore that and you venture into hypocrisy.
I will kneel for the anthem if I want to. You can have my free will when you pry it from my cold dead fingers.
