Bunce, Eunice Marie
Eunice Marie Bunce, 81, of Sigourney, died peacefully Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012.
Eunice was born on May 8, 1931. She graduated from Spirit Lake High School in 1949. She married Burdette W. Bunce of Spirit Lake, on Sept. 17, 1950. He died in 1987. The couple made their home in Sigourney and owned and operated the Coast to Coast Hardware Store from 1960 to 1987.
Eunice was a member of PEO, the Sigourney Methodist Church, United Methodist Women (UMW) and Eastern Star.
Survivors are sons, Denis Bunce (Peggy) of Marion and David Bunce of Ottumwa; grandchildren, Dana Lampe (Steve) of Marion and Beau Bunce of Hoffman Estates, Ill.; brother, Alfred “Buzz” Morgan (Joy) of Loveland, Colo.; sisters, Myrna Shreve (Dale) of Boulder, Colo. and Ellen Mortensen of Des Moines.; and great-grandchildren, Mclay Burdette Lampe and Carter Steven Lampe of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Burdette W. Bunce; her parents, Ira and Irene Morgan; brother, Leon Morgan; and brother-in-law, Raymond Mortensen.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at Powell Funeral Home in Sigourney, with the Rev. Jim Stout officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Sigourney. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
A general memorial fund has been established.
Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Sigourney is caring for Eunice and her family.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Manor House Care Center of Sigourney and Iowa Hospice who had cared for Eunice.
