CEDAR RAPIDS — Cedar Rapids RoughRiders forward John Snodgrass announced Monday he has committed to play college hockey beginning next season at Colgate University.
Snodgrass, 20, has three goals and nine assists in 19 games for the Riders. The Eagan, Minn., resident is in his first season with the club.
In other RoughRiders-related news, former forward Jayson Megna has been recalled by the NHL's New York Rangers from the minor-league American Hockey League. Megna, 25, had five goals and seven assists in 21 games for the Hartford Wolf Pack.
He played in Cedar Rapids from 2009 through 2011. Megna has played in 48 NHL games with the Pittsburgh Penguins, recording five goals and five assists.
