Jo Ann Steffen Ditch, 74, of Arlington, Texas, formerly of Dyersville, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015, in Arlington.
She was born Aug. 12, 1941, in Williamsburg, Iowa, to Rueben and Gail Langlas Steffen. She married Terry Ditch on April 27, 1963, in Cedar Rapids. He preceded her in death in 1999.
Jo Ann was a longtime resident of Dyersville, where she raised her family and worked for many years as a legal secretary. She moved to Arlington, Texas, in 1984 and worked as an executive secretary in the banking industry before retiring from the city of Arlington in 2006.
She is survived by her daughters, Terri Jo Hada, Arlington, Texas, and Toni Luera (Eddie) of Crowley, Texas; a son, Tim Ditch (Kris) of North Liberty; and five granddaughters, Lindsey, Natalie, Anna, Lauren and Lucy.
Also surviving are three brothers, Phil Steffen (Paula) of Newton, Roger Steffen (Sherri) of Cedar Rapids and Craig Steffen of Iowa City; as well as brothers-in-law, Arnie Ditch of Monticello and Clete Keating of Iowa City; and sisters-in-law, Connie Meade and Phyllis Ditch of Anamosa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; nephews, Seth Steffen and Michael Meade; sisters-in-law, Judy Keating and Donna Ditch; and brother-in-law, Jeff Ditch.
Friends may call at Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Tuesday, with a graveside service following at Holy Cross Cemetery, Anamosa. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of her life at Wapsi Country Club in Anamosa starting at 4:30 p.m.
