David Eugene Post, 85, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday June 19, 2016, at his home. Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 24, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with visitation one hour before the service. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
David was born Jan. 27, 1931, the son of Wallace and Mary (Serovy) Post, in Cedar Rapids. He served in the U.S. Army. On July 10, 1954, he was married to Marianne Luck. David enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also spent his time gardening and playing games. David was a member of Ducks Unlimited and American Legion Post No. 298. More than anything he loved his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Marianne Post; son, Jeffrey (Deborah) Post; daughter, Jamie (Chris) Dake; two grandchildren, Zachary and Allison Dake; sister, Rosemary Mitchell; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Wally Jr.
