Tarr, Gilbert
Gilbert Tarr, 80, of Casa Grande, Ariz., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at Casa Grande Regional Hospital. Services will be Saturday, April 30, at J. Warren Funeral Services in Casa Grande.
Survivors include his wife, Marie A. (Hessmer) Tarr; his children, Lori (Stew) Baskin, Debbi (Skip) Schlotfelt and Mari (Gary) Smith; brother, Mel Tarr; sisters, Pauline Bell and Marilyn Cunningham; five grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Katherine Tarr.
Gil married Marie Hessmer on May 5, 1957. He was a Navy veteran and served in the Korean War. He worked at many Ford dealerships, including Zimmerman Ford in Cedar Rapids.
He enjoyed woodworking, and spending time with his wonderful wife, children, grandchildren and Emma, his great-granddaughter.
Memorials may be made to St. Anthony of Pauda School, Casa Grande, Ariz., or your favorite charity.
