Jesse D. Aarhus, 37, of Kirkwood, Mo., formerly of Swisher, died unexpectedly Sunday, July 17, 2016. Teahen Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, is serving the family.
Jesse is survived by his four children, Ariel, Otto, Annabelle and Abigail; his grandfather, Dave Schmitt; and his sister, Angie.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandmothers, Lori Schmitt and Violet (Pat) Hiene.
Jesse Dan was born Aug. 1, 1978, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Danny and Lori King Aarhus. Jesse, also known as "JD" or "Schmitty," worked as a mechanic. He was very proud of his children, loved doing automotive work, being outside and spending time with his family.
Jesse loved his parents and pets dearly; he always had a smile and would help anyone he could.
He will truly be missed.
