Wiedemeier, Michael J. 'Mike'
Michael J. “Mike” Wiedemeier, 37, of rural Iowa City, died at his home Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011, of natural causes. A gathering time for family and friends will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service.
Michael John Wiedemeier was born Feb. 26, 1974, in Iowa City, the son of Jerome and Wanda Wiedemeier. He attended Iowa City Schools, graduating from City High School and then attended the University of Iowa. For years he has worked as a union electrician belonging to IBEW Local 405. He married Lori Hahn on Sept. 25, 2004, here in Iowa City. With this marriage came Lori's love of animals, and Mike has embraced them all, especially getting his first dog, Midnight!
Mike has loved the game of golf since childhood, was in the ski club while at the university, cheered on the Iowa Hawkeyes, collected any and all types of sports memorabilia, liked doing carpentry work around the home, but most of all he loved spending time with Lori and their friends.
His family includes his wife, Lori; his parents, Jerome and Wanda Wiedemeier of Iowa City; and numerous aunts, uncles, niece, two nephews, cousins, and good friends!
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Mike's memory.
Online condolences may be sent for his family through the Web at
