Lori Ann Barrett, 52, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Burlington, was called home to be with
her Lord Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Services: 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, at Oakland Church of the Nazarene, conducted by Pastor Dave King. Family will greet friends from 2 p.m. until service time on Saturday. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Norman of Cedar Rapids; parents, Bert and Martha Morse; children, Stacy Morse of Burlington, Barbara (Ellis) Barrett-Codjoe of Seattle, Wash., Anthony (Sara) Barrett of Italy, and Jayden (Katie Jones) Barrett of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Natalia Morse, Anashia Morse, Raylynn Morse and Riely Barrett; siblings, Mark (Martha) Morse of Burlington and Debbie Payne of Burlington; nieces and nephews, Cassie Jo Payne, Nicole Jaquez, Jeremy Graves, Sarah and Josh Morse; and her dogs, Hally and Mya.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Ricky Morse.
Lori was born Jan. 9, 1961, in Burlington, daughter of Bert and Martha (Underwood) Morse. She graduated from Burlington High School in 1979 and then from Burlington Medical Center in 1981 to become a CNA. Lori married Norman Barrett in 1991 at Crapo Park in Burlington. Lori volunteered at care centers in the area helping the elderly. Lori loved people and would go out of her way to help others and had a special place in her heart for special needs kids.
She also loved the outdoors, fishing, hiking, camping and enjoyed doing crafts.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Oakland Church of the Nazarene.
