Eileen Laura McMann, 101, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, May 21, 2017, at Northbrook Manor Care Center in Cedar Rapids. Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 25, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. A visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial: 2 p.m. at Marengo Cemetery.
Eileen was born Nov. 29, 1915, the daughter of Albert and Mary (Doerzmann) Vogt, in Marengo. She was married to Joseph McMann on Nov. 28, 1937, in Marengo. He passed away in 1967. Eileen worked for Marengo Memorial Hospital as a cook, as well as several other places. She spent over 20 years working on a book of her life, which now is in the care of her children. Eileen was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Ruth Guild. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters and great-granddaughters.
Survivors include her four children, Karen (Paul) Hallberg, Neal (Nancy) McMann, Marlyn McMann and Lee (Bonnie) McMann; four granddaughters, Kristene Honzik, Karmen (Nick) Anderson, Susan (Sandy LaBaw) Manson and Sandra (Robin) Tomney; and two great-granddaughters, Alyssa and Kelsey Wasson.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Eleanor Bruestle; and brother, Loyel Vogt.
Memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church in memory of Eileen.
