EVELYN LANNING ROSEBERRY
Center Point
Evelyn Lanning Roseberry, 91, died Saturday, April 15, 2017, at Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehab in Vinton from respiratory failure. There will be no public services.
She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Bert; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Rick Hannen and their daughters, Deb Hannen (Bob Ramsey) and Laura (Bryan) Fleck; and Laura's daughters, Emma and Samantha McClure. She is also survived by daughter, Roberta Gilchrist and Roberta's son, Brian; and daughter, Carolyn Roseberry and Carolyn's daughter, Katie (David) Tibbetts and their son, Asher, and Carolyn's daughter, Cami Kapayou. Also surviving is Evelyn's brother, Arnold John (Maxine) Lanning.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Elva Boyd Lanning; and four sisters, Freida Harrell, Hazel Keil, Doris Smith and Avis Moon.
Evelyn and Bert farmed together northeast of Center Point all their lives. Their ashes eventually will be mingled and scattered on the farm. A portion will be buried at their gravesite in the Center Point Cemetery.
A memorial fund for children's books has been established in memory of Evelyn through Friends of the Library at the Andersen Center Point Public Library.
