Richard W. Gremp, 66, of Hiawatha, died Monday, April 27, 2015, at Manor Care. Private graveside services on Thursday at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Per Richard's request, there will be no visitation. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Laura; two sons, Adam of Hiawatha and Neil of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Paul; and two sisters, Elberta Chidlaw and Holly (Steve) Merrifield-Lee, all of Colorado. He is also survived by a niece, Heidi; and a nephew, Todd.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Richard was born on July 1, 1948, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Eugene and Myrtle Huston Gremp. He married Laura J. Holmes on Sept. 27, 1975, in North Bangor, N.Y.
Richard worked at National Oats for more than 15 years and proudly served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed gardening and travel with Laura.
He was a wonderful husband, father and friend whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
