Cedar Rapids/Iowa City Roundup: Prairie runs over Cedar Falls

CEDAR RAPIDS PRAIRIE 10, CEDAR FALLS 7 -- Cedar Falls couldn't capitalize on Cedar Rapids Prairie miscues in the first half, and the Hawks' pounding running game in the second half created enough room for a 10-7 victory last night in the UNI-Dome.

The Tigers (4-2, 2-2 MVC Valley) couldn't score off four first-half turnovers from Prairie (3-3, 2-1), and Cedar Falls' lone giveaway turned into the winning score for the Hawks late in the third quarter. Mitch Christensen shouldered a load that featured 33 carries for 161 yards, including a key fourth-and-2 conversion with about three minutes left.

Christensen had the game-winning score for Prairie while Sam Drysdale hit a 50-yard field goal just before halftime.
