Don was born March 11, 1943, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Warren and Dorothy (Farrington) Waln. He graduated from Amana High School in 1962 and served his country in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1969 in Vietnam. Don married Theresa McNabb in Las Vegas, Nev., and they lived in Iowa. He retired as a welder from CEI and was a proud member of Pheasants Forever, Whitetails Forever and his gun club in Hiawatha. Don was a true outdoorsman. If it had fur, feathers or fins, he was outdoors enjoying it with his beloved dogs.

He was preceded in death by his father, Warren; infant son, Christopher Waln; and wife, Theresa.
The family would like to thank Keith Robinson for always being there for Don.
