MANCHESTER – A 42-year-old Ryan woman charged in the murder of her husband pleaded not guilty Tuesday and a trial date was set for June 8 in Delaware County District Court.
Revette Sauser, charged with first-degree murder, is accused of shooting and killing her husband Terry Sauser, 59, a Ryan businessman and volunteer firefighter on April 3.
Sheriff John LeClere said deputies found Terry Sauser unconscious but alive in the living room of his home in the 400 block of South Street. He died in an ambulance on the way to a hospital.
Revette Sauser fired “one shot from a .380 handgun” into her husband's chest, according to court documents filed Monday.
The .380 handgun used to kill Terry Sauser was purchased earlier this year by his wife, according to police. Revette Sauser obtained a permit to acquire weapons through the Delaware County Sheriff's Office around the middle of last year. She didn't have a permit to carry a concealed weapon but none would have been required to keep a weapon in the home.
Revette Sauser remains in the Delaware County Jail on a $1 million cash bond.
Her next court date is a pre-trial conference set 10 a.m. June 1.
