IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) - The University of Iowa hopes to learn within the next month how much federal funding it will receive for three of its major flood repair projects.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency is making its final reviews of Hancher Auditorium, the music school and recital hall and the art building. They were destroyed during the flood of 2008.
The university's Rod Lehnertz says once the reviews are complete, the university should be notified of the funding. He says administrators plan to report on the funding during the Iowa Board of Regents' meeting in February.
Last week, FEMA awarded nearly $6.5 million for repairs at the student union, bringing the total to date for that building to about $18 million.
