CEDAR RAPIDS - Police have issued an arrest warrant for a man suspected in the April 11 burglary of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Cedar Rapids center at Polk Elementary School.
Quatron Jamarcus Cropp, 19, of Cedar Rapids, faces arrest on charges of first-degree theft, a Class C felony, and third-degree burglary and second-degree theft, both Class D felonies. Cropp was identified as the suspect in surveillance video posted on the Cedar Rapids Police Department's Facebook page.
The video was viewed nearly 100,000 times and resulted in several tips called into the Police Department and Linn County CrimeStoppers.
Police said the break-in happened April 11 at the Polk center, 1500 B Avenue NE. Among the items taken were three laptops, a Wii game console, several video games and a 15-passenger van belonging to the club. The van was later recovered in West Des Moines.
Police say Cropp also urinated and defecated on sports equipment while inside the building.
Cropp is currently in custody at the Johnson County Sheriff's Office on charges related to the theft of two cars in Iowa City in April. He has been put on a detainer for the Boys and Girls Clubs charges.
