Spears, Helen 'Pat'
Helen “Pat” Spears, 62, of Marion, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, in the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Services: 1 p.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, where friends may call after noon. Cedar Memorial certified celebrant Julie Freese will officiate. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her daughters, Tracy Farnsworth and husband Todd of Kansas City, Mo. and Trisha Spears of Cedar Rapids; her mother, Ruth Ann Reeves of Des Moines; and her brothers, Mike Strome of Lenexa, Kan., Tommy Reeves of Des Moines and Tony Reeves of North Carolina.
Also surviving are her grandchildren, Cody Spears and Jackson Hughes of Cedar Rapids and Kate and Avery Farnsworth of Kansas City, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Strome; and a brother, Joseph Reeves.
Pat was born April 11, 1950, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Paul and Ruth Ann (Decker) Strome. She was in sales with Pae Tech in Cedar Rapids. Pat enjoyed cross stitch, fishing and reading. Pat's favorite was spending time with her friends, daughters and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
