Ketelsen, Margret 'Peggy'
Margret “Peggy” Ketelsen, 83, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, at Silvercrest of Anamosa. Services will be held 10:30 Wednesday, Jan. 13, at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Anamosa. The Rev. Mike Williams will officiate at the service. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Anamosa.

Surviving are her children, Debbie Ketelsen of Ankeny, Randi (Ken) Smith of Anamosa and Krista (Eric) Eilers of Monticello; and three grandchildren, Ryan from Denver, Colo., and Sean and Abby of Anamosa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, L.H. Ketelsen; a son, King Ketelsen; and a brother, Buddy Downing.
Peggy was born April 26, 1926, in Anamosa, Iowa. She was the daughter of Lee and Margret McDonald Downing. She was a 1944 graduate of Anamosa High School and attended Cornell College in Mount Vernon. She received her master's degree in library science from the University of Iowa. Peggy taught third grade at Strawberry Hill Elementary for more than 20 years before taking over as the school librarian. She was in the Hospital Auxiliary, Order of Eastern Star and active in the Starlighters. Peggy will be remembered for dressing up and playing the witch for Halloween at the school.
She will be missed dearly by those closest to her. (Live long and Prosper)
