Barnts, Lillie May
Lillie May Barnts, 90, a resident of West Ridge Care Center, died there Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010. Services were held in Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home Monday, with the Rev. William Harnish officiating. Entombment is in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include her nephew, David Strait of Louisville, Ky.; sister-in-law, Wilma Strait of Sioux City, Iowa; two nieces, Barbara George of Olathe, Kan., and Debra Baker of Overland Park, Kan.; and special friends, Dewane and Doris Hughes, Janet Kearns and family, Maxine Drallmeier, and Jerry and Elaine Rygr, all of Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, and two sisters.
Lillie May was born May 16, 1920, in Kankakee, Ill. She married Robert Barnts on May 29, 1954, in Gladbrook, Iowa. Robert died on Dec. 30, 1999. She was employed for over 35 years at Wilson's.
Lillie's family and friends wish to thank West Ridge Care Center and Hospice Compassus for their tender care of her.
